Adding tenants — Assign vs. Book
There are two ways to put a tenant into a bed, depending on whether they're moving in now or later.
Assign Tenant — moving in now
Tap a vacant bed and choose Add Tenant for someone moving in today (or already in). If you enter a future check-in date instead, Claybricks quietly treats it the same as booking — the bed shows as Booked, not Occupied, until that date.
Book Tenant — reserving for later
Use Book Tenant to reserve a bed for a future joining date without disturbing whoever's in it now. You can't book someone in before the current occupant's notice period ends. When the day comes, open the booking and tap Confirm Move-In to make it official.
Tenant NameRequired.
Mobile NumberRequired, 10 digits — this becomes the tenant's portal login.
EmailOptional — contact only, never used to log in.
Monthly RentRequired.
Security DepositDefaults to one month's rent, editable.
Check-In / Joining DateToday or a future date.
A tenant logs into their own portal with their mobile number and the default password 123456 — they're asked to set a new one on first login. The same mobile number can't be active at one property twice, but can be used across two different properties (e.g. a tenant who later moves to a different PG you manage).
